EveNSteve has been super busy this winter creating works for their fantastically colorful and mysterious new artwork series "Tales from the Bittersweet." But, you might wonder, what does that really MEAN? There are many steps, all of which are hand done, the product of EveNSteve's extensive research and innovation.
Here's what we're actually doing:
Once images have been captured, chosen and finalized, Steve hand-coats our deconstructed brown paper bag material in preparation for printing.
After drying, the printing takes place. Did you know that EveNSteve artworks are unique "one of one" pieces? Each image is created as a final artwork only once.
Next comes hand-coating with a specialized varnish. This sets the image, enhances the riotous color vibrancy, and establishes a substrate for the carving of our secret messages. Using our innovation of "glass writing," Eve then hand-inscribes each artwork with the story, verse or message that has been composed specially for this particular artwork. This writing is invisible under most conditions, and may only be revealed under particular lighting.
Finally, EveNSteve complete the artwork with their artist-designed framing, custom-made for our work. These frames provide the perfect elemental platform for these radiant, enigmatic works.
